KOLHAPUR : The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) reaccreditation process of the Shivaji University, Kolhapur (SUK) ended on Saturday with the final exit meeting of the seven-member peer team with the vice-chancellor N J Pawar.

The seven member peer team of the NAAC had arrived in the city on Tuesday for the university's re-accreditation process. However, the actual assessment of the university started on Wednesday and after visiting the academic and administrative departments and interacting with students, faculties and other university officials, the assessment ended on Saturday.

"The overall visit was satisfactory and we are confident of a good performance in the final assessment," a university official, said.

"NAAC is likely to announce the final grading of the SUK, based on the findings of the peer team members' final report. The whole process may take at least 30 days or more," the official added.

It has to be noted that all interactions and visits during the three day assessment, either with students, faculty members or with the university departments, were kept highly confidential and no photographer or the videographer were allowed during the visit schedule.

The SUK currently holds grade 'B' from the re-accreditation process done in the year 2009. The NAAC report had then suggested many university changes in the administrative and academic areas, followed with an introduction of new courses.
